"Texas Country Under the Stars a Rocking Success"

CANTON, TX (July 24th and 25th) – Mill Creek Ranch brings top music to East Texas, and the crowds respond in good numbers and with smiling faces.

According to Ashley Smith, event “We had mixed ideas of what kind of turn out we would have for the Summer Bash, and we hit somewhere in the middle of our target. We estimated over a 300 guests turned out for the Friday night show and over a thousand on Saturday. For our first event, we are ecstatic for the response from East Texas and look forward to having more concerts in the future”

In addition to the good music, some of the crowd favorites were the VIP access during the Friday concert where guests were able to watch the show from the pool area and snack on goodies provided by Traditions in Tyler. Saturday was full adventure with resort guests being shuttled toWired Zip Lines or hot air balloon rides on Saturday at the concert.

Dallas Mavericks General Manager Donnie Nelson was in attendance, in addition to Mercy Rushing Canton’s head of EDC.
According to Donnie Nelson “We had a blast at Texas Country Under the Stars and look forward to more concerts at Mill Creek Ranch”.

Mercy Rushing, head of the Canton EDC also followed up with the resort by email stating “The Summer Bash Concert was fun for the entire family! Mill Creek provided another wonderful event for the City of Canton. I look forward to next year's Bash! Way to go Mill Creek, it was done first class!
According to Bud Surles, resort General Manager “My main goals were to show people this great resort here in Canton, and to bring good fun, great music and lots of smiles to the faces of East Texans. From this stand point, I think we knocked it out of the par!”

Mill Creek Ranch Resort is located just south of Interstate 20 on Trade Days Boulevard (Hwy 19) in Canton, Texas, and features 200 contiguous acres along the banks of Mill Creek. The resort amenities include 100 RV sites with full hook-ups, rental cabins and cottages, two resort swimming pools, hot tub, RV Center, stocked fishing ponds, beautiful island gazebo, Outdoor Pavilion with a grill and smoker, poolside Cabana, gated playground, and conference and banquet facilities in the main lodge. The services and family-oriented activities offered at Mill Creek are unlike any RV resort in the region. County Line Magazine

We are proud to have County Line as a sponsor of the Mill Creek Ranch Summer Bash!
They are one of the most highly regarded publications here locally and we have already had many comments about our Ad in County Line Magazine that came out a few weeks ago!
Mill Creek loves County Line magazine for advertising & we are excited to have them as guests at the Summer Bash in a few weeks!

ABOUT COUNTY LINE
(go to website for more information:
http://www.countylinemagazine.com/aboutUs.html )

The County Line was founded in 1999 by P.A. Geddie to give residents and visitors of East Texas a convenient place to find special events, music, and restaurants, and fun, inspirational and informative stories that serve reader’s interests. It promises to be a “county line” to connect small towns, big towns, and their rural neighbors.

As the County Line gained popularity over the years, the demand for more copies had them increase their distribution to 6,000 in 2004, 7,000 in 2005, and to 10,000 in 2006. Others around East Texas often asked for the County Line to expand distribution into their territory and “shine a little light” on the rest of East Texas. Already covering some events, people and places all over East Texas it was a natural transition for the County Line to become “The Upper East Side of Texas Magazine.” Effective with the April 2007 issue they now distribute in parts or all of ten counties including: Delta, Henderson, Hopkins, Hunt, Kaufman, Rains, Smith, Upshur, Van Zandt, and Wood. Current distribution is 20,000 copies with that number expected to grow rapidly as it gains popularity across East Texas.

Summer Bash to Benefit C.L.A.W.

We picked C.L.A.W. as the beneficiary of the fundraiser aspect of the Summer Bash for several reasons. What we were most impressed with is that C.L.A.W. actually takes animals off of "death row" and finds homes for them! East Texas has a high population of orphaned and stray animals & C.L.A.W. is out there saving as many as they can have the support to take care of.

A cash donation will be made at the end of the event, in addition to a silent auction and a lemonade booth where the proceeds will also benefit C.L.A.W.!

CLAW's mission is multi-faceted. First and foremost, it is to help domesticated animals find secure homes.

Additionally, CLAW works to educate the public on the importance of spaying/neutering,
responsible pet ownership and the humane treatment of animals.
CLAW efforts are also focused on reducing the use of euthanasia in Van Zandt County
and to provide the public with information on how to report animal abuse.

So COME JAM...BUY LEMONADE...AND SIGN UP FOR THE SILENT AUCTION.....AND...HELP SAVE ANIMALS!!!

Cowgirl Gypsies Come to the Summer Bash

We are excited to have Cowgirl Gypsies selling these "ever popular" hats and other "FUNKY FASHIONS" and "CLASSY TRASHY" Cowgirl hats, leather purses...and other fun accessories.

Bring your cash, you will want to take some of these treasures home with you!

How Cool Will the Summer Bash Be?

So cool!!

First off, we are starting later in the day. Gates open at 5:00...so you have just a few hours of sun to consider. And when you consider these things, it's much cooler than you thought!

  1. Misting fans and a high powered misting trailor will be available for you to cool off under.

  2. The Mill Creek Ranch Ampitheater has some great trees to squat under, too.

  3. Bottle water will be available AND affordable.

  4. Also available, lemonade, snowcones and other "chilly" refreshments.

  5. And the sun starts going down at 7:00...

So, wear your coolest clothes- and come make the most of all of the cool ways we are working to make this an enjoyable evening and event for you!!

Is the Summer Bash Kid Friendly?

Q- I would like to know if your facility for the Aaron Watson concert will be kid friendly.

Thank you, April

A- Regarding kid friendly, it will be a BYOB Texas Country Concert. How old are your children?
You will know best what environement is friendly for them, but we have TONS of security, TABC officers, staff, water, cooling tents, a tethered hot air balloon ride, etc.! Your kids would probably have a BLAST, but use your best judgement regarding the environment and ability to supervise under these circumstances.

Thank you!

Ashley Smith
